Three Peaks Yacht Race

Post by Kay »

In a bored moment check out this web site

http://www.threepeaksyachtrace.co.uk/

Paul is a runner/sailor on 'Questar' There is live GPS tracking. Looks like they have been up & Down Snowdon, and at the mo just clearing the Menai Straights..which was a REAL worry. Impossible for there boat to do at anything but High Slack Water...otherwise they'd be on the ground..and maybe going backwards , the rip through there is ferocious.

Off now to Whitehaven, then the runners hop off. Cycle into Ennerdale..Up & Down Scarfell Pike, then the longest leg of the race ..Sail up to Fort William ,up & down Ben Nevis ..Then a PINT or three !
Looks like they may have had a very rough night last night :???: :???: but seem to be going well

Will The Fun Never End !!! :) :) :) :) :???: :???: :???: :???: :) :) :) :)

I do sometimes worry about yours and Pauls sanity!

What you fail to mention Kay is that whilst paul was going on a cruise, you were cycling the 67 mile northern rock cyclone in a little over 3 hours.....

Well done!
It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........

Yep still going...Looks like they have just completed the MONSTER cycle & run from Whitehaven to summit of Scarfell and bck. GPS tracker is now showing them leaving Whitehaven en route to Fort William..Bet Paul & Pete (fellow runner are knackered they did it in 7hrs 40)
They came into Whitehaven 23rd and are leaving in 12th...

That website is great, Paul's boat is running close to Firefly at the minute. A few retirees ranging from a sick runner, ripped mainsail and a broken chart plotter!
Mull of Kintyre and the Corran Narrows next and the Ben, grim.
