Mark Weir of Honnister Slate mine has died last night on his way home in his helicopter my thoughts are with his family

All the gang at alicante pass on their condolences at this very sad news I'm sure he will be sorely missed he was a great friend of the free flying community.

Sad news indeed, I heard via a text message from my son, who has become a regular at Buttermere with hhis friends from Uni.
Our thoughts are with evreyone close, we will all miss him.
See you out there!!!!!

Just So Sad...So Unfair...A really charismatic, free thinking Personality just what this world needs.

Both Paul & I even tho we did not know Mark personally feel really touched by this terrible accident .

A very fine man, I'm pleased to have shared a small part of life with him last year at the LCC having the privelage to fly in his helicopter
People like Mark extend the envelope of new experiences and bring a lot of joy to many people in all his activities
Feel the fear and do it anyway!
