chairmans cheviot challenge 2010

Post by gary stenhouse »

Well there is all this talk of big XC’s all over the country and foreign holidays yet we are not trying to break our own site records. So I have decided to put up a challenge and the money to see if we can smash all the current hg and PG records in the cheviots.

The rules are simple, there is none other GPS trace, the longest flight in the cheviots will receive £50.00, however if you fly over 50k and it is after 5.30pm or on a weekend then the prize money doubles.

This only applies to the cheviots and not cross fell as that is in Cumbria, the other is only for paid up members.

A great challenge but as I know I will be paying myself then not to worried.

This is a challenge for hangliders and paragliders

Go and get it cheers Gary (chairman)

If you get passed me I'll give you a lift to the nearest station! :P

Off to fly it now on PGEarth.

Will it be enough to shoe horn Mr Day to the bar if he wins?

Will this get Mr Wallis to the Cheviots?
His money is safe Brian 50 Cheviot KM is worth 150KM anywhere else plus the direction you would need to get that distance from the Cheviot sites would probably take you through airspace or danger areas. If it's a good XC day where will you be heading the Cheviots???? Don't think so. :lek:

Now if he was a man and would make the prize money £1000 that would make it much more interesting I think you would see a lot of Northumbria pilots flying in the Cheviots

John I hope you are not referring to? the secret site that you and Miller use to do you’re long flight from the Cheviots. I am hoping that John W, has not let it slip out.
As you know Jim & his mate will be onto it as quick as a flash.
