We haven't got a speaker on, so what I thought may be of interest is if people could give a short talk about their paragliding holidays.
This would be interesting for anyone planning any trips to find whats in store from different places -
On the flying side covering - weather, conditions, guiding, sites, XC potential, costs etc and what flights/epics were had (like flying first 100k)
Away from the flying what about the accomodation, culture, alternative activities, travelling around, pubs, parties you know the sort of thing?
If you've got a few photos or better still any vids we can put them on a laptop with a projector to show folk at the meeting or put them on a memory stick or CD and I'll sort out the rest.
So lets hear about that 100k flight in South Africa Alistair and Paul & Claires trip to Bir in India and Woodys holiday to Oz & New Zealand, I'm sure that we can cobble together something about our trip last year to Nepal along with Kay, Paul & Anto. I'd like to hear about SIV in Turkey as we are thinking about doing one - John Wallis
Who is interested either next meeting in Feb. or March.
Go on you know you want to

Speakers
I'm putting a 30min video together of my CP trip to Morocco.
The flying footage might be a bit boring for all you skygods but there are shots of the take offs and LZs, the groups of kids at the LZ 'helping', the driving, the villages and the people.
Would give someone an idea of what the place is like.
It won't be ready for a while though. Once it is I can do a talk about making videos, filming techniques etc. There's a lot more to making a 'proper' film that people will watch rather than just slapping down some footage and adding a bit of music.
Would be happy to pass on my knowledge.
Regards,
Glenn

Finally.......!!!
An admission from Porn Tash of his TRUE occupation.
I have a mental image of Western way Garage being a bit like the Bat Cave, or Superman's Telephone box...... John walks in there with his overalls on, goes to the secret door in the corner, and emerges, rippling muscles and wearing nowt but a fig leaf......
Please shooot me someone, it is a nightmare!!!!
On a slightly more serious note, that is a brilliant offer Glenn!

It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........
Porn Tash!
I'm not in THAT line of work unfortunately, although I've heard that making everything on the set 3/4 size and hiring other 'actors' that are vertically challenged can help in the quest for the increase in apparent size.
But as I say porn tashes, leather chaps and studded caps aren't in the kind of movies I make.
Each to their own, live and let live etc etc.

well some overwhelming response to this meeting rearding meetings and speeches.
though i am not the only one to fly in the region of alicante i have a fair amount of experience in doing so. as i have a home in the area i have now flown there for 4 years and must say i started from 6 hours airtime. so i would be more than happy to do a questions and answers basis for pilots wanting to more about the area.
cheers gary

Club Talk
Would like to hear about anyones experiences in Alicante as I'm going out there in March as a low airtime flyer. That would be good Gary.
As I say I am happy to show my Morocco stuff at one of the other meetings and do a talk on filming/how to make videos look more proffessional. Had loads of problems with my edit suite so i can't get it cut for tonights meeting.
Ta,
Glenn
