The weight off your shoulders

Post by RonDon »

Who would be interested in running a retrieve car on a good flying day and the Club pays for the fuel? When a good flying day is expected, the list of retrieve drivers will be posted on the Board, a name will be selected from the list and they will be informed. This list will be made up of flyers who are willing to retrieve and would also like to be retrieved when required.

The names will be chosen in rotation so that anyone who has a chance of a cross-country flight can do so without worrying about their return to the take-off position, even if they are going over the back.

The retrieve driver can fly on the hill but must not leave the hill in case they are called upon to do a retrieve.

I think that this would encourage people to fly over the back and remove the worry of their return to take-off. If a selected retrieve driver is unable to fulfill their duty they will be required to find a replacement.

Anyone who fails to show up or provide a replacement will be removed from the list for seven months.

Can we have your thoughts.

Surely no one's going to volenteer to drive when they could be flying themselves? Especially this year with the weather!

And isn't getting back part of the adventure?
