Parahawking in Pokhara

Post by antobaird »

Here's a clip of me and Kay (on the other tandem) parahawking in Pokhara with Kevin the Egyptian Vulture.

It was a really fantastic experience - especially the way Kevin just steps off your hand into the air when he's finished his snack.

Of course not Steve. Most birds can fly so that was no surprise to me.

I was impressed by his grace and finesse - maybe you had to be there to appreciate it - Try it if you get a chance.

It looks stunning!

One of those life affirming moments for sure.......

Look forward to hearing the full account from the Kathmandu Krew!
It is sad to measure your life in terms of hours flown...... but even sadder not to.........

That's a cracking shot Anto. I wonder if it could be done on the "A Frame" of a hang glider? A big piece of budgie Millet seed and a bell and Kevin would have the perfect perch Hmmm

At last John, you've come up with a useful idea about what to do with a hang glider!
I can see hours of fun on photoshop this weekend designing new budgie perches, pussy scratching posts, bird tables etc from the frames of hangies.
See you out there!!!!!

Fish - OK
Prime cuts of best Indian beef - Good
Mouldy old scraps from a take away - Lurvely
Rancid chicken offal - Perfect

....

Millet seed !

John - I rekon you'll need to borrow different bird for that, but I think Great Aunt Edna's budgie may well have a very short, let me say "terminal", career as a parahawk when it meets up with some of the other birds from the aviary in Pokhara.
