You might have a better time on Jenkin in the lakes (what do you think Gordie?)

Or even Broughton or Bishop up in Scotchland although you may have a bit more cloud cover up there.

Yes, why not do the club comp at Jenkin, (if ok'ed with Gordie) its a hell of a lot more reliable and more scope for XC & triangles and setting tasks
What do you think Ron?

looking more southerly now so i would say bleaze fell would be better, also blease has some more defined edges to get lift. it looks very light and if any site will work then i would say blease is the one.

Cross Fell would be my choice for the comp, we are all familiar with it, and at the end of the day it is a Northumbrian site. Good task's even in a southerly. 8)

Where is the Guy who's supposed to be running the Comp?

If he's not going to organise things then you cant blame people just getting on with it.

I aint out Sat, got to see a man about a dog. But I am out Sun.

Good look for the comp tomorrow, if you do it.

i am loosing patients with this competition lark, lets be fair it looks quite promising for cross fell and not even a mention. what aur we waiting for some rain and drizzle and see how long you can keep the duvet up, and stay the driest. we need a comp that is worthy of the standard of the majority of the club, and that requires a good site that can produce more than just a bimble about. we need open distance turn points out and returns. come on, are we realy such a bunch of losers that our happy to just ridge soar pimples?

Drove home from work at 1700 today and there were around a dozen people flying from Blease and about 6 flying from Jenkin. I landed from Jenkin at 18:45 when the lift had stopped. Don't think there's gonna be much change in conditions tomorrow so I'll be heading up to the stone circle then either Blease or Jenkin at 10:00, give me a call if you want any info on the conditions.

To answer a question from earlier in this thread, High Flyer is Burkitt 'Kitt' Rudd who I'm sure most of you will know. Currently 5th in the national league.

Hi guys,

Another beautiful day in the Lakes has dawned and it looks classic. Quite happy to have a 'Geordy invasion' over here as Jenkin can cope with it, Blease remember there is no bottom landing! and 50hrs experience minimum. I personally think it will be to far off to the south at Cross Fell if not even S.E. but the Lakes will work brilliantly today, expect after mid day very good thermals! (managed 5m/sec on 10 sec ave 2 days day last week).

If you do decide to come then please let me know and may I suggest a donation to the CSC or LCC price fund for 2008.
