NOTAM's at the weekend !

Post by ron freeman »

Here's a good one why N.O.T.A.M. are so important ! don't just think about midweek notaming.. this was the weekend in Ingram valley directly over Brandon village and guess what ! Newcastle airport radar new nothing about this low level hercules x 2 exercise for the Otterburn range's...

Best time to NOTAM is the night before and give at least two sites just in case you go elsewhere.

0800 515544 nearest town or village - site grid ref - height agl - take off & land time (you must notam 4hrs prior to flying)

NOTAMs

Post by GlennP »

Having trawled through the NOTAMs on the AIS site I saw that there were exercises with NATO forces called Operation Lightning.

Could be related.

You should see the pics that Angus and IanB took of the C130 flying very low over Powburn. I suspect you could have seen the pilot doing his crossword while you were supping the last of your pint at the pub in Powburn.
You are only as good as your last flight........
