Top Tip ! - Clean wing

Post by ron freeman »

Keep a small towel, clean cloth, and a bottle of water in your car for when you get your wing covered in sh..t (you will sometime) get it off a.s.a.p. you will then alway have a nice clean wing !

If you go XC keep a small cloth in your harness I'm sure you will find some water somewhere.

True, it works very well except when you land out!

Wet baby wipes have worked nicely with my wing, they are easy to stash in the harness and don't make the sail too wet!

This is for PG's Sergey, as you know the material is very thin I'm not sure what baby wipes might do to the cloth (chemicals) plus baby wipes can dry out after time.

I agree, strange as it seems I have no quarms about giving Hannah our 2 year old a good face wiping with the wet ones. But using them on my wing?

Not sure about that one!

Water and only water.... any soap or anything else is bad news in my opinion.

Can anyone join the tossers club?

Post by Davehorne »

Hey Mike, can anyone be a tosser?

My qualifications:

- Spend time talking on the hill when should have launched, miss the only thermal of the day

- Can't get out of bed early enough and miss the epic morning flying

- Arrive at hill, perfect conditions, lines tangled because I couldn't be arsed to sort out the mess last time I hosed down the wing with detergent after that bottom landing in the Bewaldeth sheep shite. Too strong to launch by the time it's sorted

- Pretend to be sorting out the wing on East Hill whilst everyone else is launching cos you're scared it's too strong, so all you manage is a bomb out to the bottom as it all dies off

- Get to 4k above Clough, then try to ridge soar (hmm where's that dynamic lift gone?)

- Still incapable of setting out on XC even when 500 ft above Blencathra

- Decide to go out-and-return but forget about how to get back and enjoy a good dragging in windy gap trying to do so.

And finally - I only use baby wipes when I have got a sore arse - didn't know you could do so much more with them <<)

Here's to 2007 - have I got enough experience to join yet :))

If this is a new club we're starting Steve Marshal is definitely eligible, he’ll also smoke you a kipper and bring his own tissues.

PS. put my name down too....."now Steve is that one kipper or two?"
