NCT 2019 Series

Post by Aeros »

The 2019 Main and Hike n Fly series is now closed.

Awards will be as follows:

Main Series - winner John Westall. The award will be made in December at the CSC AGM as this is his first nominated club.

Hike & Fly Series - not awarded as no attempt meets the minimum scoring criteria unfortunately.

The 2020 Series will open on the 1st March 2020.

There may be a slight rebadging but otherwise minimal changes that will be incorporated by 1st Feb 2020 latest.

Reminder: Although it's six years on from my producing DFC the tasks are all on xcmap and there to be used. There are around 60 tasks, most relatively straightforward and designed specifically for pilots either wanting to start trying to fly a task, wishing to give an added focus to the day and they cover virtually all the main sites in the north - with lots covering many Cumbrian sites (hill and coastal). They can be found at:

Although they work with the book as extra guidance, they can be easily downloaded in various formats and your flight uploaded for a score.

Learning to use the full potential of your super, all navigating instruments is both fun and very useful .... it's a skill to add to any pilot's list. It also provides something to get your teeth into when out flying and pushes you to try things.

As a Blue Peter example, here's one I did the other day (others did too but have yet to upload) .... a nice bit of six mile racing.

There's some basic flight analysis in there too.
