Smartwatch

Post by Cheele »

Hi,
I'm looking at buying a smart/sport watch It's NOT to try & replace my vario etc but just to track exercise, I was wondering if any of you have one? I was going to get the Garmin FR235 but it doesn't have a Altimeter.

Cheers.

Hi Cheele,

Garmin are good, as are the top end Fitbits. The Suunto Spartan is excellent but not cheap! I use an Epson SF-810 for MTB and general tracking - also use this as a back up when flying - start it and forget - it a good accurate tracker and you can export the files to upload into XC or Google maps and such like. I also can recommend Suunto Ambit2 - which is brill. Again when I setting out to fly I just set it away on takeoff and then even if I forget to set my Kobo off I'll still have a pretty accurate flight log.

Some Smart watches have all the sensors as well now.

Cheers

Hi Martyn,

Been a while mate, thanks for the reply I appreciate it. I ended up getting a Garmin VivoSport tracks accurately & also has a Altimeter/Barometer, not top of the range but tracks my runs etc. See how it gets on once I (hopefully) get out flying in 2018.

Cheers.
