Fantastic informative talk from Paul Freeman from Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue last night.
Some great tips for getting the message through when you have no signal, something that could easily happen to us.

For those who were not at the meeting you can get 999 text service by the following procedure.

1. Text 'register' to 999
2. After you receive the terms and conditions reply 'yes'

You will receive back a registration confirmation.

Then in and emergency Text 999 with

1. Who Police, Ambulance, Fire and Rescue or Coastguard. (MRT advise for their response use the Police)
2. What Briefly what the problem is.
3. Where Exactly where the problem is (For paragliding incidents which would be away from a road they prefer six figure grid ref and advised putting OS Locate on your phone which instantly gives a grid ref don't forget the sheet letters in your grid ref)
If Acro was easy they'd call it Cross Country
