Flying High EPC and CPC

Post by Christine Nicholls »

Had an amazing two weeks in the French Alps with the Alpine Flying Centre. EPC and CPC training!
My first flights were from Passy Mont Blanc Plaine Joux launch site over 2,000 ft above the landing site in Saint Gervaise, a lovely experience, the height meant I could do 90,180 and 360 turns left and right, height control, a lot of Alpine launches and some very speedy landing (very little wind in the valley).
The views were stunning, running off looking at Mont Blanc!! I had a tandem flight last year from nearly the same place, imagine how I felt less than a year later doing it myself! Unfortunately the weather deteriorated but we got the exams and theory out of the way, short of a couple of flights (which i will do in the UK) but had a fab time, thanks to the adorable Dennis Trott and thank you so much for all the lovely emails, texts and twitter messages of support and encouragement while I was out there! It's a shame the weather came in and spoilt it, sure it won't take too long to finish
If Acro was easy they'd call it Cross Country
