LOL Gary there were many 2 wheel drive that made it to the top "Real Men" If it was the choice between carrying it up on your back or trashing your car the car lost out :)

Loads of us used to get up in 2wd, but I think the track was a little better years ago. (the weather was always better then as well)

Thats my Golf, the most rust prone car i ever owned, no wonder a lot of replacement part body panels were available.
How did I get it up the track? 'cos my throttle foot had all the finesse of a top class brain surgeon! (and lots of body panels were available)
