Well looking fairly light south easterly winds and look strong enough down summer. Also its a nice easy drive in so may be worth a run out, but it is the uk so it may all change :D

Well its going to be a tricky one tomorrow and its all going to be getting the right site.

Summer may be ok all day if not a bit off to east
Blease big walk up could be top end at the back of ridge and if stays more sout to SSE then could be spectacular

Then you have east hill may be ok bit of to south but also a bit light
Hownam could be good though prove to be a bit top end but takes every wind direction.

After looking at the weather and sunshine then the lakes is looking very tempting as do think a ridge of 10k with lots of height could be a deal breaker even if it is a big walk up

If it the lakes it will be 8.30 to 9.00 am start as it is a 45 minut walk up

Hownam looks favourite for me. Decide in the morning.

Yes hownam is looking good though may blow out, however if it does then east hill is likely to be working. I think the morning will be the crucial point as if it is more south then i would favour the lakes and blease fell

Cracking drive through the moors to Hownam. Beautiful misty conditions until the sun burnt it off leaving a glorious day. I waited on my friend Ged which delayed our arrival on the hill. For sure we would have been flying had we arrived earlier. Didn't know the site so I was blown away by the friendliness of all the farmers. Hownam definitely an interesting change to the lakes. I found a fairly easy climb so beats slogging up Blease as it takes lots of different directions.

hownan is a great site indeed as it takes so many directions but when you cant drive u and you need to walk to the very top it is over 400m the same as walking to the top of Blease. today we got to the top and it seemed perfect and then the wind dropped away to nothing and never to return. however it all was worth it as even john got a great zero wind take off and every one getting there feet of the ground :D
