Spoke to the guys at Wendy Wind Blows a short while ago and they said they would love such a site. :) They said the station has to be: [u] * ** Somewhere the public don't walk (they get vandalised immediately) * ** Somewhere where the winds are relevant to flying (and each valley has its own wind sy...

Monday the 4th August could be an epic day
I know it's a bit early to predict... :???: Think Monday the 4th August could be an epic day. Check it out for yourselves... http://rasp.inn.leedsmet.ac.uk/RASPtable.html  Certainly by the standards we've had so far this year. Get dodging and dealing, you want the day off! 8)

Got to XFell for 1400, the clouds were passing on a Southerly track but it was the NW face that was working. :o Didn't have the skills to hook one of the 5-6 up thermals for long enough to get much above take off! Boy they go down just as fast round the edges! Quite something to wait to se...

I'm sure you already know this.... The biggest factor I've found on the amount of feed back from the wing is the harness width adjustment (I've found wider more :???: , narrower less :x ). Be carefull though as there is a set width that the wings are tested / certified with and they may / do ...

Well I have to agree that it probably isn't worth the effort on an active day as I doubt there's much chance of using the active air and getting away from the hill. It may be worth it though during any higher wind shorter inactive days. Hope we all get to fly one of the big sites in lovely big...

Gradient of slope required to soar?
Firstly I'd like to say this is a general question it's not a safety question... I've recently been checking out a few possible sites for winder days (Top End on Big Sites) and have a question... WHAT SLOPE GRADIENT WOULD ANYONE SUGGEST AS A MINIMUM TO SOAR? One of these sites has 6:1 (too shallow I...

If you need more help with airspace files let me know.
Is there a reason you're fancying a colour display?

Awesome flight gary well done. I totally agree with John as I'm sure this is just the start of things to come. :) You go the right site and we spent the evening scratching in rough stuff on XFell. :x Hope to see you on the right site with the right conditions soon, who knows what you'll manag...
