It was very windy! Just look at their down wind speeds 90k's plus. Looking at the route they took it looks as if they have both flown through the 'no fly zone' have placed around the 'angry farmers' farm at Mungrisdale. This zone is there because he gets very upset if we fly over his farm and due to...

We love this sort of weather over here though. Couldn't resist getting the kite and 'old' skis out this morning and being dragged up it from Bassenthwaite at a rediculas speed. Then found some sweet drifts over the back which took me all the way back down again. Total time for assent and decent (tak...

Always fill in a BHPA accident report form no matter how small the incident is. The more reports of accidents resulting in little if no damage to the pilot or machine makes our insurance company view our sport as much safer, then if they only receive ones when the pilot ends up all smashed up. This ...

The bears second landing is very reminiscent off 'Swanny's" entrance to last years LCC/Bewaldeth Bash! You had to be there.

Didn't this all start with the urban mith/ true story about a guy in the states. Apparently he wanted to fly and had had one to many.....or something. Any way he got his favourite arm chair out in the garden strapped a shed load of helium balloons to it, sat down and let the 'puppy' go. Off he shot ...

Sounds great, can't believe I still have not flown it. However is the real challenge though to get to it from the Lakes on a good day, thermal up and carry on flying until you reach the coast? Made it from Ullock Pike to just past Alston about 10 years ago which was nice. Longest posable route would...

Don't knock the flying at this time of year untill you've tried it. The peak of yesterday was just before Gary took off with me getting a few proper thermals the best with a steady climb of over 600ft per minute! Even got a little bouncy on exit. When the airs cold and the sunshines on to sunny slop...

St Hilare T.V. report

Knowing how mad you guys are for the St Hilare thing, or is it you just like any excuse to dress up. I though this would be of interest to you, its the report from french t.v. about the event. You will have to fast forward to the sports section at the end. Ohh yee and some how a couple of clowns and...
