Watson Dodd and Ullock Pike hurterling

Besides waisting some of the day to paragliding and trying to teach in hardly any wind, the 22nd turned out to be a great day for a hurtle. Tiz nice, wizzing down a fell side, with your mates, in the sunshine, knowing you've got a hug waiting for you when you land. As ever turn up your speake...

Glad you all enjoyed yourselves, putting smiles on faces is what we try and do in Cumbria and I think we did quite well again this year. Whilst the event is on I don't get any time to play so here is the only flight I managed to sneak in on Thursday evening flying with 'Jetman' Eric and Stevie G, Oh...

A tribute to our friend Mark Weir

Our friend has gone and he will never know quite how far he moved our beloved sport forward in the U.K. We held this video back for some time but now is the time for the world to see what 4 blokes, a helicopter and balls acumplished above the Lake District last summer. RIP my friend: http://www.yout...

Cheers guys its great fun and a great way to get an xc outing in on a wintery day. As for the kites you can use water kites (LEI) if you wish which do 'dpower' more then the foils but they are heavy and bulky and you have to carry a pump. Most of us use foils as you can take a quiver of kites with y...

Snow kiting the central Fells

Managed to squeeze in a nice wee snow kite tour of the central Fells on Sunday afternoon with the dog and Mara. Snow cover was great above about 600m but we still managed to get the kites out at around 400m just above Watendlath. Went south for about 8km to just above the Langdale Pikes before turni...

Yeer Steve I second what your saying. I'm sure Mark from ukairsports thinks the same, as he is soon to loose a little finger after a 15 year battle to keep it after a disagreement with a paramotor.

Happy new year you all xxx

Hi Chris, Thank you for being honist and I hope others learn and listen from this. As for your thoughts that the filed was not in crop, if it is full of buttercups then it has been left ungrazed for while which means it is certainly being left aside for the grass to grow. The grass being short means...
