tracking

Your right Brian, it’s not available for an iphone. Personally I don’t think its too important that we all use the same system but if I happened to be looking for someone I think it would be good to know where to look, so to speak, hence the sticky at the top of the flying today page. – I’m hoping t...

yes you can switch it off or just leave your phone at home, forget to charge it up, leave it in the car when you go flying, drop it in a bucket of water or down the loo.

live tracking

I’ve recently set up live tracking on my android mobile phone. There’s sticky page in the “flying today” section with a link to my tracking page. It seems to work quite well and I think it could be really useful if more people were using it, we’d be able to see who’s out flying and where they are, a...

Laragne

That seems fair to me.
If we are all on the same flight I think 3 kango type cars would be ok between all of us.
Are we all on the same flight?

Happy new year

Best wishes for 2014 John, I'm sure there will be plenty to get exited about when the time comes. Hope we get a few more days like the one in your photo, and with a bit of luck I'll get to fly a bit further myself next time. I think the hill is Hownam, pilot is Lloyd, who flew the furthest? definite...

ap

I'd like to get AP but am in the same boat as Bill, does anyone know of a course where you can just do the stall, spin and decent bits, I don't particularly want to do a full siv.

On gary's point - i'm sure I read somewhere you only need pilot raiting now to do the british championships.

There has been some really positive discussions on task setting for the club comp with different ideas put forward and the thinking behind these explained, I think this can only help to get people motivated and taking part in the comp. One possible solution to the issue of setting a task to suit the...

thursday

Hi Kyle.
I’m hopeful it will be a brighter day tomorrow, forecast at present suggests east hill may be flyable, I will check again in the morning and probably leave Morpeth around 1.00pm if it looks on. Its aprox a 30 min drive from here.
Give me a call if you want to hook up.

gps

GPS usage, if managed properly, can take the stress out a comp task. Yup, totally agree. I’ve found through experience that I need to do as much as possible on the ground to reduce the workload when flying a task. Being properly prepared also helps me as I try to stay calm and focused on how I’m go...
