Cannot have studied O'grade/O'level Biology then,
If it is any consolation Gary I got a very similar infection in my leg though happily it got cleared up. Though Jan still has a vivid memory of discovering a maggot in the wound while recovering on a Cypriot beach.
Keep up the antibiotics

Some valid points Paul - Though I do believe going on an xc in many ways keeps you safer, because if you are going to be successful you need to keep a very close eye on the changing environment. However the competititive bug which has begun to take hold can mean that sometimes rash decisions are mad...

Crikey Gary, what happened. Was it on landing or did you hit some rough air? Hope everything mends well, Jill, Stuart and Daisy In my experience Jill it is always the landing and never the rough air :o But I do know what you were really asking. Gary I wish you a speedy and full recovery - This time...

Lost legs!
Good spot Mr wolfe,
It's a terrible thing when you finally find a seat and then your legs go walk about

New Digifly Leonardo Pro
I have just received the new Leonardo Pro unit from Digifly. First impressions WOW! What a good looking instrument. They have worked hard to update the style and look of the unit and I think Donini has done a fantastic job here. The new unit continues to have a very user friendly page layout and is ...

this is my point, how can you say you are better than your wing if you can not take it to the edge of its capabuilitys. as for noose down spirals i think to learn to spiral and come out. it is the only manover that you are likely to have to use in an emergancy in clowd suck. i have done the full st...

I agree with Ali, there are many misconceptions about chestrap settings. Mine is set as wide as I can get it. Johnny Silv'once cut his off and retied a longer length of climbing tat as a replacement. (Now I am not suggesting this to anyone). However standards have been created to ensure uniformity w...

The simple answer is once you are happy with your set up then knot or tape your straps up. There are not that many harnesses which do not suffer from this. and if you are a pilot who does a lot launching to test the air then follow it with plenty of ground handling You will find that you are constan...

Agree Ron regarding harnesses. Changing your harness set up nevermind actual harness can alter the character of your wing. I would bet that a large proportion of us are actualy flying our wings outside of certification. In many ways I think getting your harness correctly set up is just (if not more)...

Gary/Tony- I was not making any presumptions or having a cheap jibe at any one . Tony you may not have known it but I checked you out when you first got in touch re wings. Gary I would never have put you down as the sensitive type you are not getting a guilty conscience are we . Seriously though the...

Going xc is really about working out where the next climb is and a good 1/2 will climb as good as anything else on the market. Unfortunately a lot of aspiring xc pilots up grade there wings which may help them on the glide but it dose not make them better xc pilots. In fact I would go so far to say ...

price hike
I concur with Steve, I recieved news today of Gradien't impending price increases. If you are looking for a new wing this year, better start putting a bit more away as these increases are going to be substantial.. These price increases are coming from the point of manufacture with significant increa...

This was going to be the first XC year for me, full of optimisim after 18k in March (I know, pathetic) in Spain. But try as I might, I couldn't break the barrier :( Two attempts at the Helvellyn milk run ended in the same field at Thirlspot twice in the same day (but at least the ice cream van was ...

Harness adjustment
Hi Spencer, You say that you have adjusted the harness to a more upright position. My concern is not simply rectified by moving to a more upright position. It is the positioning of the hangpoints, harnesses like the vamp have lower hangpoints than a standard intermediate harness. This lower position...
