Irresponsible pilots
So what you are saying we should have these 'irresponsible pilots in our club ? I don't believe for one moment that these pilots never knew about PG clubs in the area ! they just didn't give a jott ! and when these idiots read our guide on the net... brilliant ! just bloody brilliant. John, you say... as for irresponsible people well you'll never stop them with or without this guide ? so why make it much easier for them by addvertising all our sites ! Site guides on line are a bad idea, rules will be broken and we will never find out who was responsible. Claire, sites are the bac...

Up set farmers ?
I never said 'Cumbria' upset farmers I said you have 'problems' with upset farmers... we all know Gordie does a lot of work for the Cumbria club and I bet he would like to spend more time flying than sorting out problems created by pilots who don't read their site guide or just turn up and fly ! I w...

I feel...
I think completely the other way round Ron...there are too many accident that don't get reported... so sadly we can't learn from them ! As we all know 99.9% of all incidents are pilot error and if reported we can all learn from them, then hopefully the figures should start to drop. (clap) Most incid...

The grass is very long at East hill (both fields) can we all land on the side of the hill or very near the bottom, spoke to the farmer on Thursday afternoon and he will be cutting them next week.

Good practise Stalling
Its very good practise stalling your glider... (HG) as long as the conditions are OK.. it keeps you sharp and alert on recognising all the symptoms for the day when you will need it. Paragliding... I like to slow the wing down to a point where it starts to get sloppy and the brakes get heavy... agai...

For Brian
Brian Day, It sounds like to me that you did the right thing, X/Fell is not the ideal place to be going XC when you are new to this sort of flying, as you know its a huge area with some deep valleys, getting low over Alston can be quite scary and turbulant. When JW mentioned it was also windy ! anot...

West Hill last night
Training in the Cheviots last night till dark (9.00pm) and West hill was perfect for the PG's...not a club member in sight ? The wind was smooth 8-10mph N.W. with beautiful cloud streets to the coast, classic conditions. I thought if sombody turns up now they will do an Ian Miskin and go for a late ...
