Not quite as exciting as Gordie and Steve's exploits, but I enjoyed a mega fly-down from Skiddaw Little Man to Poartinscale, landing very conveniently next to the car  I had the whole of Skiddaw to myself - one car in the Latrigg car park - one pair of walkers passed as I was getting the wing u...

Just to confirm - I can't get IGC files uploaded to the server, or pictures uploaded to photo album, or indeed pictures attached to posts.

Problem is with the server - looks like the function responsible for handling uploads (of anything) has died a death :(

No Dave, that's the wrong interpretation, the correct attitude is: There's ONLY 42 days left (nearly down to 41 already) - it'll soon start getting lighter again :) :) There's nearly always some flying to be done in December OK OK I know it's boring old ridge soaring but what the hell anything's bet...

John, I see you are using a flytec 5020 same as me :) It's got plenty of track memory and I have found that a good compromise for sampling rate is 3 seconds. Plenty of flying hours recording time but much more accurate track recording so that you get a better representation of your actual track. Plu...

Hi Spencer, Just read your post as I've been out in Spain for last 4 weeks enjoying real thermals, I have had a U-Turn Infinity since CP 3 years ago and still very happy with it. Excellent day in the Lakes

Well today turned out to be surprisingly good :) After an inauspicious start, conditions improved and upwards of 14 pilots enjoyed excellent soaring around Jenkin and Skiddaw until 7pm :D :D Cloudbase was below Skiddaw but later lifted to above the tops. Great fun flying through wisps of cloud toget...

Have a good look around for a 5020 Jim, you might find one at a reasonable price now.

I don't have the problem with it deleting big XCs cos I haven't done any

But it does keep ending flights in mid-air when set on auto, must be all the gale-hanging I do
