Or could it be launch 10am off Blease in lovely bouyant Southerly soaring Blencathra and taking in a triangle out front as the wind moves round to SE whilst en route for Scales, then spend the afternoon soaring Souther and Carrock as the wind turns E, before a quick XC to the coast just in time for ...

How about welding up your own cast iron knickers Chris - then you'll be OK for the next Cu-Nim emergencey landing  And it'll add a bit of extra weight flying in the wind strength we're going to get tomorrow. Anyone else noticed that the weather for all of June has been: (a) Pissing down but wi...

Your timing is pretty good though Gary, let's face it the weather has been shite since you bombed out :x I'm losing the will to live. Maybe take up white water rafting - Allendale's pretty good this time of the year so I hear. So hurry up and get flying again, so we can all get out. I reckon life ev...

Well I talked to flying mate this morning and we both decided that only a lunatic would consider flying today :x Point proven  Still it proves that it is possible to get lift on East Hill. I reckon I'll stick to my wave on Souither though - me shades are not dark enough for all that lightening ...

Great day in Keswick, amazing how the weather varied in the space of 50 miles - pissing down leaving home yet nice and sunny over there. Thanks to Gordie and Swanny for seeing the "variable confidence forward launchers" off. The fence just below launch was great fun :egrin: Couple of pictu...

I wouldn't dare give any advice, as I am still regularly shitting myself and have only about 50 hours. BUT - I have found Jocky Sanderson's DVDs really good to understand what's going on when you hit punchy thermals. Specially "Speed to fly" and "Performance flying". I keep going...

[/quote] Gordie: He only choose to fly as there were already two pilots in the air, how every they turned out to be fairly inexperience and Martin was astonished at how dangerously they were flying. Apparently they kept soaring along the top of Souther at ridge height and close in, a very naive thin...

Well I didn't know it was Martin Sandwith at the time, but all I can say is that both he and the hangies were tiny specks in the sky when I looked up after landing. I would say the photo was not far off 6k because the view I got from 4.5k at roughly the same time - before chickening out -was MUCH lo...

Cheers Ron. I have got a lot to learn yet. Yes, it was starting to get a bit bumpy and that was the other reason I got out of it.

Another day, another lesson learnt

Ahem, I was there too - check out the XCleague. But I chickened out at 4.5k - still going up, full speed bar on, still going backwards..... :D I knew I should have stayed in the wave  I wondered who had the blue and white wing. Only 3 paragliders including a guy from Blackpool who followed me...

Can anyone join the tossers club?

Hey Mike, can anyone be a tosser?
