Just thought that it was worth bringing this thread back to the top. Saturday was the first time I got to try the XC Soar on Android thing and, despite a couple of issues it worked really well.. A really good feature of it is that you can check the details of the airspace you are heading towards.......

Anyway, great photo; it's great to see were the Wright brothers got there inspiration from.

Some great pics there Chris I especially like the photos of the handsome chap in pic 10 and 12....reminds me that I need to adjust my harness...well done Ed. The photo's demonstrate that classic conditions can occur even on overcast days... I didn't give the day enough credit until it was too late.....

Weather models are changing all the time....Saturday looks epic on Rasp.

just a hypothetical example based on personal, and witnessed, experience Ron... I've seen a few occasions when reserves have been pulled out of their container before launching (when loading in and out of cars, reserve handles catching on things etc..etc) and the subsequent bemusement trying to get ...

Don't know if I can wait for the next meeting....anyone fancy a pint in the Lion and Lamb (Horsley) so that we can chat about XC etc.....maybe we could cajole Gary into showing us his 7"...............I mean his 7" Samsung Note with XC soar airspace and flight software on.

I'm up for doing the repack course as well. Generally I agree with what is said above; that we should all be well versed on how to pack our reserves. Remember, it is not during the winter months in the comfort of the club meetings that we 'need' to know how to repack our reserves....it's when we are...

There was chat at the last meeting of holding a lecture in advance of the pilot exam.... are people still interested? If so come along and bring a pen and a airmap if you have one.
