Seems my wing just loves to be in big ears unless its flying????? Oh,, and just stop before it reaches the top of the window??
Certainly the strangest wing I've ever had on the ground, fortunately it's quite happy when flying. :)

I can't see any change Ron?
It may appear in the Private section, don't know if it always has? It is though part of the Private and Public forum as it always has been and is available to all to see.
Has someone been winding you up?

Totally agree Chris, flying is far more enjoyable when numbers aren't involved, I came to that conclusion 3 years ago and have far more enjoyment now. :)

How many times can a forecast change???? How many different forecasts are there for a given time and day??? Sunday, may end up on the coast if it's strong enough? Monday could be good if there's somewhere to take off in the middle of the country??? Hadrians wall, but then there's those damn lambs,,,...

Graeme said that work will be starting on the footpaths on 27th February. I guess the site will be closed then to transport the bags of rock to site by Helicopter.
No NOTAM for the area yet. Hopefully it will just be a couple of days. I can't see anyone wanting to carry all that rock to the site!

So, as everyone immediately reaches for xc planner.....
I take it that must be a convergence flight going north and landing just north of Berwick, the southerly route puts you in airspace and the downwind route misses coquet island, though the Farnes may just be on the cards.
Interesting!

Will I be back Ronnie? I doubt it, but would never write it off. I really don't know how you all flew hangies there, the thought scares me! The landing area is small and dangerous with turbulence from the trees and hedge especially in summer. Punchy thermals could cause disaster low down with a slop...

2 hour ball ache drive and a long walk to the top or a 2 hour 20min easy drive with a short walk up the face,,,,comparatively small soaring site to a huge one....or,,, there's always titters. No brainer for me, there are times Hownam is the choice of place to be, but not yesterday and as for titters...

Busy this morning, but I'll give you a shout if I get finished in reasonable time. It'll have to be an easy one though, supporting broken ribs after coming off the road bike on wet leaves and hitting the curb. :( Dangerous game this paragliding!

Christmas flying quiz

Looking for moon thermals. Ok, lets test our flight rules.... How many rules is the pilot breaking? A bit of background; The picture was taken of the Observatory at the Pic Du Midi on the Tourmalet in the French Pyrenees. It was taken from the summit ski station where 1000s of camper vans and tents ...

If you ever had a doubt....

If you ever had a doubt about the validity of Flyability, just take and hour and watch this film about a blind kid from Brazil who wants to get a barrel at Pipe Line, one of the classic waves of the world. You don't have to be a surfer to be inspired or amazed by this. It's been made free to watch f...

Someone else said lenticular on another site, but square? I know how lenticular form and where they form, but this shape would suggest wind from two directions at right angles, is that possible, or probable? I'm not entirely convinced. Give me an explanation of the square shape and convince me! This...
