I was there twice last year during the height of the summer. I was told it is a fantastic time to fly during their winter. He told me xmas time was best. Lots of videos online for you to wet your appetite. Go.

A wonderful day at Tinto. 2.5 hours of easy flying.The most memorable part of the day was watching an inexperienced pilot descending on big ears, full speed bar and pissing down with rain. I won't forget the panic in his voice as he asked me to grab his brakes!! I shouldn't laugh.

Sounds like you are learning lots of good stuff. You will always think you are lower and worse than everybody else as we all think like that sometimes. It's hard to comment about your concerns so focus on the positives.
