Hows about a NHPC Pilot of the Month t-shirt? Wear it with pride. Order 2 or 3 years supply, various sizes, shouldn’t break the bank. All we need is a design, easier said than done but I’m sure we could come up with something. I actually like the informal way we currently choose PoM, as far as I’m a...

No directions

Hi Brian, if there is a compass icon with a red cross at the right of the address bar, try clicking on it, other than that try on your ipad or phone. It only gives a list of direction, I'm still working on the tomtom ap and a magic atlas for john, although the directions page is a bit like this. Ron...

Directions

I don’t think anyone’s had a look at how to get directions –

1. When the page loads you have to agree to “share your location” – nothing bad will happen.
2. Click on the animated circle.
3. Click “get directions”.

See what happens.

NHPC Spot page

www.xcmap.net currently shows the NHPC Spot page. It could be useful if need to find someone. When the map loads click on the animation to get more info and directions to the pilots location. At present, I’m only aware of Brian Day, Gary and myself from NHPC using these devices; if anyone else has o...

Henhole Scramble

Going to try something a little different tomorrow, from Hethpool NT895282 bike ride up College Valley as far as pos then on foot, scramble up the Henhole towards West Hill (not our West Hill but NW corner of Cheviott) and the crash site of a WW2 Flying Fortress. Just me and Bill up to now but all a...

Hope it goes well today Ron, best of luck.

I used JS insurance, Graeme's first link, they provide cover for amateur pg comps.
We need to take bed linen and towel.
Also take your cossy and some shoes you don't mind getting wet, if a day gets binned we might go canoeing.
I'll have one of them sticker things please.

£££

I think fuel + 20% for wear and tear is still a bargain. Also if someone has volunteered to drive retrieve for me I'd take em for free. As for the happy bus, in my opinion, everyone flying xc or trying to fly xc should share the cost. if you didn't fly very far and someone else did - tough - you sho...

Xc

Don’t get me wrong I’m not anti BHPA or against the pilot rating system but the idea that your not competent to fly xc then you pass an exam and you suddenly are just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. In any event, experience has hown that passing the exam doesn't actually prevent pilots from makin...

Cp's and xc's

The issue was about cp's flying xc's, telling people they will get warnings, have their gear confiscated or get sent back to school if they don't have the right rating is incorrect and won't, in my opinion, do anything to encourage pilots to progress through the BHPA system. The people who prosecute...

Cana

According to the CAA "Foot Launched Powered Hang-gliders and Para-gliders (that meet certain criteria) and Unpowered Hang-gliders and Para-gliders do not require a licence from the CAA. " so it's hard to see what difference it makes to them if you're cp, p, ap or not rated at all.

cp xc

slightly off topic but I don't see a problem with cp rated pilots flying xc if the know where they are going and what they are doing. I'd say if they are flying xc they should be thinking about getting pilot rated. on the original subject of the post; there are some new EN B wings around which shoul...
