I think I can lay claim to be the first paraglider who flew Lumsden Law several decades ago. I was there with the Hang Gliders (were you there Wallis?), and although it wasn't that windy I remember taking off, being hoovered up a couple of hundred feet very abruptly with next to zero penetration, th...

Looks like there's going to be great weather for the BBQ.

I picked up an impressive infection from a bug bite in Scotland last week and the doc has grounded me for at least two weeks so I won't be able to make it :-(

Have a great evening everyone - but remember your Skin-So-Soft!

Some very nice colour adjustment been going on me thinks! Very subtle Well spotted Brian - The RAW files looked a bit boring and bland (hence my comment about no decent pics) , bit a bit of colour correction/temperature/sharpness/burning/noise reduction/graduated filters and..... voila! Actually th...

Hi Ali After a paragliding career measured in millenia I really should get round to doing the pilot exam - that way they'll let me play with the big boys at next year's LCC. My original log-book was carved onto a cave wall, which was filled in when they extended the Powburn Cafe - but I'm sure I mus...

Re: Cross Fell

Has anyone else considered the Cross Fell option, as per Anto’s suggestion? I’ve been over that way a couple of times on my paraglider and it looks pretty flat to me. Never been to Garragill before so I think I’ll give it a go. I managed to pedal to the normal take off but that was right at the lim...

It's a great trip. A variation to consider is the track up to the XFell take off and over to Garragil. I did that a few years ago and it was a nice alternative to the motorbikes on Hartside - though it does involve pushing/carrying both up and downhill (a little) at the top. Full-suss bike would als...

They both had their own type of visions. Why condemn someone for trying to be different. Why has he been so singled out in the ppg world for his accent and always put down as daddy’s rich boy so people just dismiss his efforts because of it. Funny how we react even in the 21 century, yet if he had ...
