Just came back from Olu Deniz a few weeks ago. Transport up the hill was 15 Lira and entry to the park was 10 Lira. Most of the cafes and bars take both sterling and Lira. All i had was lira and the prices didnt seem too bad. I would recommend taking a 10 pound note for the 'visa'. You can't pay for ...

looks like the highest launch on babadag. watched an experienced turkish pilot get a compound fracture on the 1700m launch just a couple of weeks ago. It is not the type of terrian you want to bounce off.

Hi Gordie, Great video. I enjoyed last year loads but this year was out of this world. The atmosphere was amazing. Everything was just so relaxed and easy going, just the way it should be. I only wish I had planned better and could have camped with my wife and kids. I was gutted when we had to leave ...

Whilst In Olu Deniz last week, some of the lcoal turkish pilots had met a crazy englisman called Jessop running up babadag with his paraglider in preparation for X Alps. Mad or what. I feel guilty about complaining whilst climbing Clough!

I have got so sick I have booked a week in Olu Deniz for £180. Fly out Thursday!!!!

All brownie points with the wife are now used up so I don't think I will be allowed to fly for the rest of the year (chances are its going to rain until november anyway).

Spotted some non BHPA approved training at Seaham today. Someone should put a stop to it before someone gets hurt!

Hi Ronnie, I think the vast majority of pilots want to fly without upsetting anyone no matter where they are or which club they belong to. The very small number of pilots that will fly at all costs will do so with or without a sites guide. Without publishing a sites guide there will also be a small ...

how the cumbrians do it

I am sure you are all aware how the cumbrians do it but no-one has mentioned it yet in this thread. If there is an issue with a site the traffic lights on the web site change colour until Gordie sorts the issue out. From what I can see this would only work if there is a person prepared to put alot ...

lambing dates

Hello Ron, As I mentioned above I am no longer a member of the NHPC. After qualifying three years ago I joined NYSWC, NHPC and CSC. As I try to do most of my flying in the lakes I have let the other two memberships lapse but still on occasion fly here in the north east. Obviously it's a decision for ...

lambing dates

Obviously club members do the honourable leg work of going round different landowners discussing dates so I can understand paid up club members thinking why should we let others know. On the other hand you can't force pepole to join a club and I don't think it's possible to enforce a members only ...

lambing dates

Thanks for that, I am a lapsed member I am afraid so no access to the private part of the forum. Is it something the club have intentionally done to keep the dates off the public forum? If so I don't undersatnd why. Cumbria have everything open on the web and have few problems (trust me you don't ...
