Lanzarote to Fuerteventura by hang glider
Amazing video of the guy who flew from Lanzorote to Fuerteventura a few years ago. Heard about the flight but didn't know he'd done a video of it. Thanks to Steve for passing this link on.

Blue Monday in Lanzarote
So yesterday is supposed to be the most depressing day of the year known as Blue Monday. Well not for our lads hang gliding in Lanzarote. Steve Gill, Bob Sutherland and Ali Johnston were out flying in perfect conditions at Famara, the most spectacular site on the island where the sheer cliffs rise s...

Oops. Didn't realise the info I needed was just up there at the top of the page. Pure laz...

I'm struggling to remember what the different trophies are. Could someone just post the list up here to remind me? (i know they're probably listed somewhere else but I don't have time to sift through the site and find them) My initial feeling is that it would be wrong to just lock them away and forg...

Re: Steve
The main point is.. the Birdman trust fund have never had any jackpot money to give out ! its the insurance company that pays out. Every year the event has just broke even, they now can not afford the massive insurance hike from £2000 to £8000 for the jackpot of £30,000 This is a real shame. Last y...

Dave Gilmour is on a promise to play the guitar solo on c. Numb at ONE show only. The only shows that are being filmed are the ones in London. I have a one in five chance of seeing them reunited. Can you tell I am a little excited? So Alastair. Were you at the one where Gilmour and Mason got up? Wo...

Well done Chris, didn't know you were one of the guys up there. I was walking up Cats Bells on Wednesday, turned to look back along the ridge and saw loads of paragliders laid out. I must have walked straight past you! You did well to get away, the window didn't seem too long and the see breeze kick...

I've said it before and I'll say it again. In the old days we used to always have something happening at club meetings, speakers, quizzes video nights etc etc. The AGM and the auction take up two meetings, sometimes we didn't have anything at the midsummer meeting when a lot of people were on holida...

Was up for about two hours, the first hour pleasant ridge soaring to hasty bank and back more times than I can remember, then just when I was thinking of landing the sky opened up and it was lifting everywhere. How about a social.....
I reckon this club needs to have a few more social get togethers to bring back the old club spirit. So for a start how about tomorrow night at the Corner House. They've got a great rock band on called "On The Rocks" who play all the old classics ranging from Free to Bad Company to Sabbath ...

Just to forewarn you all, no matter how bad the weather has been for flying lately it's only going to get worse. I'm finishing work this Friday, taking voluntary redundancy, and will have loads of time for flying, so knowing my luck with the weather we can look foreward to 40mph southerly winds with...

The tall guy at the back looks like Mike Mavin who was my instructor in the early nineties when the school was owned by Clive Brewit, before Selby took it over, so that dates it to about late eighties, early nineties. I'd agree with John, it's not the training slope at Titlington, which is known as ...
