Edited, but my phone screen got cracked. I've borrowed a smaller wing, an ozone neo which is a low B but I'm well in the top half of the weight range for that. So much more stable on a flight last night , so will see how I get on today. Luckily I'm flying with a guy who knows the area well and I'll ...

So, moved to verbier and had a little hickup. Took the launch thermal to 3000mtr then was topping up on flat windward side with the mountain behind launch when I had a full collapse about 100mtr agl. I think my left side of the wing must have just caught the Lea side of the face I was figure of 8ing...

think I'll treat myself to the nova phantom and one of the seat less advance cocoon harness when I graduate, I loved that harness when I tried it last year. Soft comfy and stable.

Until then I think I need someone that knows more than I do to help adjust and set it all up!

so, it's not as good as last year, but mananged the petit tour yesterday with a low cloud base limiting me. Also struggling with my wing/setup (nova ion 2). Although I'm on a stirup and on full bar across the lake, I'm still arriving much lower than everyone else meaning I have to waste time scrapin...

Alps this month?

Hi all, it's time for my one month trip to the alps again. Heading to Annecy today, then making the rest up as I go. Anyone else going to be around?

Afraid I've never really though about going for my full pilot rating. Thing it's the next logical step though, I'll have to look at the criteria to ensure I'm able to do it!

Was just wondering if I'm thermalling wrong or anything. I'm working hard, weight shifting and using the outside brake to keep my turns flat and tight, but I struggle to go up compared to others sometimes. That flight linked, I was on my own, although, there were quite a few people on rock de beouf....

So, I think it's coming to the end of my week here and must have amassed about 20 hours flying, if not more. I've put a link to my last and longest flight and was wondering if anyone has any critical analysis to give of it? It was on my 5th day of flying and I wanted to carry on heading south, but l...

Well, that's the petit tour du lac done on the second day of flying, so might have a chilled one tomorrow as I'm pretty tired after that. Wishing I'd brought warmer hear though, it's freezing and my gloves are shocking!

Big landing field at Doussard where plenty people are practicing forward launches and ground handling (away from the middle used by those landing) Also I found either brits or english speakers at launch more than willing to give local knowledge. Plain Joux (think I spelt it right) just outside Cham...

So this has been happening this last few day in prep for living in a van for a month. Don't think it looks too bad to say it's ikea kitchen furniture in a van!

Potential stupid question/ambition

A few of you will know me as an infrequent flyer/club meet lurker as I don't get much time off from uni to go wind waiting. Anyway, I've got 6 weeks off for summer and I'm intending to head to the Alps in the camper and I'm thinking I could also take the paraglider. As I'm a low(ish) hours club hill...

Do I stay or do I go now

I'm in the the process of finishing my camper van off (VW T25) and have 7 weeks off uni now. Well, I'm thinking I should give myself 2 weeks or so to get it ready, then spend a month down the south of France/the alps and was wondering if I should take my paraglider along with my mountain bike, road ...

That would be little fatty Finn, who likes to think he's a pro, all the good guys are away in warmer climates except Tako who was on a reef near Blyth. As you probably know we don't give away spots very easily, but everyone and his dog seems to know about Blyth now. It's sheltered from the northerl...

Thanks, I'm afraid I'm not available tomorrow and have exams in the upcoming weeks. I'll keep an eye out for people heading off though and drop a message if I can get away. Luckily I have the advantage of a fair few weeks off over summer, so I'll hopefully be able to get back into it then. Thanks, P...

Hello, I came to one of the meetings about 8 month ago, but life has meant I've not had chance to get involved, never mind actually fly! I'm a low hour club pilot and haven't been flying for over 2 years now, so thought I'd message on here to see if anyone would be able to show the sites when they'r...
