I'm not sure it was a great evening simply because Gary was there but Jon certainly made it a really informative night and we were pleased to see so many of the NHPC members which may have had something to do with Gary's 'Happy Bus'gary stenhouse wrote:i think it will be a great talk and worth going to as i am going

I kind of agree with Gary, though not his point "when you want to" that to me is dangerous but with the point that if you have to ask someone then the time is not right. (y) The reason why I disagree with Gary's initial response is that unfortunately not everyone is good at knowing what is...

You were not the only one Richard, - I did say it was important not to glide into the goal but plan to cross it at height. However my motive for that was for pilots not to get caught out in the seabreeze with little options for a clean safe landing. As Gary says all interesting stuff and good learni...

Unlike other comps this years comp was simply scored on position. I had wanted to use race but this program is not always that stable and I could not chance it throwing its toys out and then not being able to resolve it. However I have already spoken with Calvo and I can assure all we will have a be...

Hi James, Firstly it is great you are intrigued by this great sport and have taken action ( albeit wrongly) to get yourself involved. Ebay is a great place for the right things, old competition wings to absolute newbies it is not, although all too easy to do. You have simply been duped and if you ca...

Where do you get your forecasts Kitt? Mine seam to be getting further from what happens each time I use them. Have you had many flights on the XC3? Is it as good as the XC2? Have to catch up some time soon. Basically regarding forecasts I don't listen/view just one forecast but take a few and make ...

Great to hear the various accounts of the day being retold. This was an interesting day on many counts. Firstly it seems many pilots were expecting just another normal day on clough and yet those pilots who ventured down the ridge found conditions not as they might of expected. However the clues wer...

Not knowing the site but hearing your description I am thinking along the same lines as Glen, The thermals may well be releaasing before they come up the slope. I find a similiar thing happens at Lattrigg Nr Keswick, for sure there are thermals whicch follow the slope but 8 times out of 10 in my exp...

The rules around GPS basically are an import from other comps where height validation could be required. Certainly if I was the LCC director this year(which I am not) I would not be applying this rule....
