I have read these posts and was not certain whether to contribute or not, as I was on cross fell merely as a spectator, and have not flown now for four years. But I assessed the wind speed as 18 mph, and asked the guy with the wind meter what speed it was, and he said 18..... So I have not lost it! ...

Keilder Sunday 19th

Looks a bit to windy for flying tomorrow, so if anyone fancies a nice gentle bike ride, there is a group of us meeting at the cafe in Falstone to cycle round keilder reservoir.
10am at the cafe for a 10:30 grand depart.

Susan and I are definitely up for the ride.

I spoke to Bill earlier, there is a loop of about 8 miles from milk hope up and round the forest trails.

I have printed out some os map copies of the route.

We are aiming to be there about 2.

You also need to bring a pen, there will be a quiz!

Jules

I appreciate it is not directly paragliding related, but I know a lot of you had met my son in law Jules at the lakes Charity classic last year, and also at a couple of club meetings he came too. Unfortunately Jules lost his fight against cancer on Sunday. He was only 23. The funeral is at St peters...

It was a great night at the opening event of the Kendal mountain film festival. The show included the premier of security in flight 2, Jocky sander sons latest film, and as Mad Dog himself said, there were some bits you just had to look away from. The highlight for me was the rate of chewing gum. Th...

Mostly on road.

In fact if you want it can all be done on road.

Having said that, if you do go over to Garrigill via gregs hut, you will definitely need some knobbly tyres.

Sustrans do a brilliant iphone app, covering all of their routes, including the c2c.

It is based on the OS 1:25,000 maps and uses the built in gps to enable your phone to track your position.

And best of all, it is free!

What you fail to mention Kay is that whilst paul was going on a cruise, you were cycling the 67 mile northern rock cyclone in a little over 3 hours.....

Well done!
