Yes I was there and it was impossible at times to keep your wing steady on the ground. Just after sorting my lines out another thermal came through and ended up messing them up again ( very frustrating! ). Sat for twenty mins waiting for it to calm down so I could sort things out again. I didnt see ...

Avoidance Area
If you do end up flying and havent phoned in the previous day with a NOTAM its still quite easy to phone up and they set up an avoidance area. I think it takes two hours for it to become active but it usually takes this long to get to sites and set up anyway. Phoning in a NOTAM is really easy and qu...

Closed Sites
Just on the topic of closed sites its very easy to quickly find usable sites when browsing Cumbria Soaring Clubs page for example. The traffic light system on the main page is very quick and leaves little excuse for anyone "accdiently" flying a site. Information on closed sites is not easy...

I waited around for two hours in the morning then came back in the afternoon to see if the wind had eased off a little. It hadnt so I decided not to fly. 20+ is too much for me though it is tempting when the weather has been bad for so long. :x Just watching a few launches put me off with two people...

Arrived around eleven to see about six paragliders thermalling and quickly going XC (pete and neil from northern were two of em). Sat for around an hour to see how the weather was panning out. It shifted onto the hill from 12-16mph. After a few people took off going forwards (instead of backwards) i...

Is anyone planning on flying tomorrow, i finish at twelve and the wind looks like it could start dying off a little by then (?!) so may head through to Tailbridge if things look good on Wendy's. Also Sunday looks like it may be okay tho is that just me being hopefull? right fingers crossed.
Blown out
Well i got to cross fell - ian c and the northern paragliding peoples were also there. It was blowing at 20+ mph, the hangliders i saw heading in the opposite direction on the way there should have told me this maybe!
Cross Fell
Have decided to go to cross fell and see what its like, fingers crossed the wind drops a little.
Sunday
Is anyone planning on going out today?
Im heading to wether fell, going to try to phone the guys at sunsoar first to check how it looks through there unless anyones got any advice?
