Currently gusting up to 31 on Wendy at wehter and the same at model , has been increasing all morning, tho nice and sunny! :-) Early to tell I suppose but is due to continue picking up until much later.. hmmmm... :???:

I think if you convert back to an IGC tho it isnt valid for competitions as software can tell its been tampered with, not sure...

Yes I was there and it was impossible at times to keep your wing steady on the ground. Just after sorting my lines out another thermal came through and ended up messing them up again ( very frustrating! ). Avoidance Area

If you do end up flying and havent phoned in the previous day with a NOTAM its still quite easy to phone up and they set up an avoidance area. Closed Sites

Just on the topic of closed sites its very easy to quickly find usable sites when browsing Cumbria Soaring Clubs page for example. The traffic light system on the main page is very quick and leaves little excuse for anyone "accdiently" flying a site. Information on closed sites is not easy...

Ive been trying some options for in flight video at the mo but its becoming a bit like preparing for the shuttle launch powering on gps, vario, walkie talkie, camera, digital camera doesnt really calm the nerves when you haven't flown for a bit! ...

I waited around for two hours in the morning then came back in the afternoon to see if the wind had eased off a little. It hadnt so I decided not to fly. 20+ is too much for me though it is tempting when the weather has been bad for so long. :x Just watching a few launches put me off with two people...

Had some good flying today first at Cautley Spout (bit of a hike!) and then tailbridge suprising amount of thermal activity and lovely clear skies! for once the weather forecast was spot on! hope this continues.... oh yeah put some pics on check em ooot (sun)

Well headed thru the dales got to stags fell around 10. Not much wind but i did pick up as the day went on. Anyone got any ideas for where could be good tomorow? wind direction doesnt seem too good for dales sites where weather seems like it could be better northumberland way but which sites are open for business and take the right direction? Is Titlington Pike a possiblityl?! (sun)

Wind seems quite gusty at mo 11-23 on wendy at Carlton looks calmer in dales 4-11. May still head to model tho and hope things drop off a bit, cloud is supposed to burn off later apparently! :^)

Is anyone thinking of flying tomorrow? Im thinking of going to Model Ridge or Carlton bank if the wind is right or is it more likely that the coastal sites would be more use?

Still looking too windy for me being a beginner 10-19 on wether and 13-24 on Carlton and the wind seems to be picking up here. Think ill give it a while and see if it calms down as Alistair suggests. (dance)

Is anyone planning on flying tomorrow, i finish at twelve and the wind looks like it could start dying off a little by then (?!) so may head through to Tailbridge if things look good on Wendy's. Also Sunday looks like it may be okay tho is that just me being hopefull? right fingers crossed. :lek:

Blown out

Well i got to cross fell - ian c and the northern paragliding peoples were also there. It was blowing at 20+ mph, the hangliders i saw heading in the opposite direction on the way there should have told me this maybe!
