Bunch of ignorant gets :(

I posted this as soon as the video was released months ago and not even a peep. Unfortunately hasn't been released to general public yet.
If Acro was easy they'd call it Cross Country

you know what i mean, i beleive they are only available to the supair team pilots at the moment. And of course when released it will be aimed at the acro market.

How much do you reckon theyll be asking for one steve

Skydivers have been using this type of system for around 15 years.
It relies on having a reserve square parachute perfectly packed to open fast, it needs repacking a minimum of every 6 month so it doesnt open slowly.
You won't be able to pack these yourselves like you can with rounds unless you are confident at BASE packing or do a course, and the square steerable parahutes are much more expensive than round reserves and heavier, more height needed to deploy them as well. You don't want to chance a cut away if you are low so you need to know a minimum height to deploy
On the plus side you can steer them away from hazards/obstacles and you do stand up landings on them the the descent rate is much better than a round reserve.
Somehow don't think they'll catch on for general paragliders.
Like Colin says just for the acro guys, but look great fun though :)
Feel the fear and do it anyway!

The moral..

Prevention is better than cure...

Don't fly in strong thermic conditions or top end gusty winds ! fly your wing within its limits plus your own..

This will reduce your chances of needing one by a huge margin.

p.s Iv'e seen pilots cutting away on one of these and the height they loss is huge.
Maximise your time & dosh do both Hanggliding & Paragliding :)
