|
|
The League will score a flight automatically and will give the flight the best possible score. Exactly the same way in which GPS dump calculates the flights from IGC files.
SEE PHOTO 1
As you can see GPS dump has calculated these flights in the same way and has given the best score for it which is a free distance flight of 23.56 points.
SEE PHOTO 2
This flight is scored as an FAI Triangle because it is the best score for it. And again the GPS Dump and the League figures are mirrored.
SO
Be confident that when you do a FAI triangle it will be scored as one. Please do not confuse the OLC scoring with the National XC League where you could turn flight 1 into an FAI triangle and get a x3 score, that is for the National XC league, and possibly the reason they apply the X factors is that the flights are all put into one league.
The NHPC IGC League keeps the competitions separate so there are 4 disciplines. No need for x factors
Three point turn distance (OLC distance) = Start point A turn points BCD landing point E
Open Distance = Start point A landing point B
OLC = Scoring distance
After the flight the start point, up to five turnpoints and the finish point are determined on the flight trace, so that the scored points for the flights are maximized.
Scoring
1 point per kilometer is granted for the distance from start point around three turnpoints to the fourth turnpoint.
For the distance between the fourth turnpoint to the fifth turnpoint 0.8 raw points per kilometer are granted.
For the distance between fifth turnpoint and the finish point 0.6 raw points per kilometer are granted.
Turnpoint four and five, as well as the finish point can be the same.
FAI Triangle = The shortest leg of the triangle must be at least 28% of the total triangle |
