Quick basic guide to getting your IGC files from your GPS in a usable format.
1. Download Seeyou from here http://www.naviter.si/de/download/seeyou/index.php?Itemid=27
It is a 30 day trial but will still download your IGC files after this date.
2. We will presume that if your GPS came with software drivers that you have them loaded so as your PC can see your GPS.
You have SeeYou installed?
You have your GPS pluged in and switched on?
OK here we go.
1 - Open SeeYou and left click
>file
>connection wizard
This will take you to step 2
2 - GPS type & What we want to do
2,1 - Select your GPS, try the interface setting at auto, if this does not work you need to select the setting.
LEAVE the parameters to AUTO
2,2 - Download flights should be selected by default.
2,3 - Click next
This takes you to step 3
3 - Downloading
You might see the activity in the box highlighted, let it do its stuff. You will know its finished when a list of flights pop up.
PLEASE NOTE
The "save flights to folder" box. This is where you wil need to browse to later to retrive your flights. Can I suggest you make this somewhere you know you can find i.e. my docs
Step 4
4 - You now have a list of flights.
Look at the dates and duration to pick out a flight. EG here
On the 01/04/2007 I had 2 flights. I know one was around 5 mins the other around 1 hour.
Highlighted flight is 56 mins as this looks right to me.
The other is 6.46 to which I will come back for later.
Highlight the flight and click next.
Step 5
5 - Finished
At this point your flight is now saved into your chosen folder. You can now exit seeyou or click back to save another flight.
Done
