Hi John,
And other supporters of the 5020. The 5020 has been superceeded by the 6020 at £599! :(
Cheap it aint! No-one sells the 5020 anymore, such is life. :x
I will search for a cast off or a cheaper garmin 76c perhaps.
Tomorrow is another day.
Cheers

The 5020 looks like a combined vario and gps. I already have a 4005 vario. Is it better to have a combined 2 in 1 unit or 2 separate units? Obviously weight wise one would be better, do shops take part ex? :???:

Hi All,
Easyjet has a sale on until midnight Tuesday for flights. There is 20% off until then. Current price for cheapest flights is £105 with one bag. Or £120 for more expensive flying time on 15th.

Success at Grasmere for NHPC

Hi All, I've just heard that an NHPC member has won the B comp at Grasmere. As you all probably know, this is an accuracy comp. I'll let him tell this forum his identity and all the gory details when he returns victorious, the A comp was won by a CSC member. Those of us members of both clubs can be ...

Hi All, I agree with Alistair, whichever way you vote, it is useful if you comment as to why. Then folk will understand the reasons and a useful debate can be had. All opinions are needed for the committee to understand the members wishes. Come on, don't be shy, it doesn't take long.... Cheers Jim

Hi Stuart, Just been ground handling myself in Herrington Park (behind Penshaw) and it was smooth as out. Theres plenty of flat grass to leeward tho', no trucks, just the odd dog walker and 4x4 to contend with. And the occassional dog prezzie! Which certainly concentrated the mind with my new wing o...

Anyone Fancy A Paddle, Cycle, Walk While We're Waiting?

Hi All,
I'm new to the club and a bit bored waiting for the weather. Does anyone kayak/ sea kayak, cycle, climb or hike? I'm keen to do just about anything inbetween my nightshifts on Wednesday and Thursday, if its not flyable, or any evening this week.
Cheers

Hi Alistair, I just missed you at Model Ridge yesterday. A couple of people had soaring flights of about 5 minutes around 1800hrs on the Carlton side, then flew back to the cafe later, just as the wind turned to the south! It's a great view from there, I could see the effect of the low sea breeze on...

Hi John, I guess that the club means many things to many people. Some will go to see a speaker, attend the BBQ etc, some won't. Some just want to fly I guess. I'm only guessing mind as I still haven't met anyone yet, cos I was working on Wednesdaynight. Some may see the free BBQ as a bit of a luxury...

Hi Alistair,
Thanks for that. It seems that there's only one way to go then. And still cheap at £25! I do like the sound of free beer, there's not much of that around these days.

Hi Alistair,
Being a newbie I am not sure of the clubs financial position. Perhaps if you explained this and why folk want fees put up? Then members could vote with more information.
Cheers
